The Punchbowl features a beautiful period Lounge area, with many large leather sofas & chairs. The perfect setting for a brandy after your meal, it is set apart from the rest of the Bar area. Locals are fond of this friendly pub in its attractive village green setting - but there's a warm welcome for visitors as well. The rambling bar has an open log fire, interesting furnishings, and rushwork ladder back seats, as well as well cushioned window seats in the white painted thick stone walls, coins stuck into the cracks of the dark wooden beams and local photographs and prints of Askham.

Away from the bustle of the Bar is the period decorated restaurant, seating up to fifty, in luxury and style you'd expect from a top class Hotel. An expansive Menu is available all year round, including The Hog Roast available every Sunday
